Oregon City Maternity session with Erin Vockrodt | Oregon City Maternity Photography Session
We all know that Mom and her baby are the stars of the show when it comes to a maternity session, but there’s no denying the sweetness of having the entire family in the frame, too. I lovecapturing the raw, candid moments between parents and their child, and pressing pause on a moment in time that would otherwise go by so quickly and without preservation!
My shoot with Erin and the rest of her family – including Dad, and Izzy. – offered lots of those moments. The session took place a week ago at Oregon City, and it was a non-stop shutter clicking extravaganza!
Erin is 36 week and will be a family of 4 before she’s knows it.
Don’t you just love that image of Izzy? Too precious.
About including their current kiddo in the shoot, Erin and Ryan said: “Your child will not make it 2 full hours and that's okay. They will also have to pee, ask 500 times to go play at the park, and ask the photographer to use her camera to take photos. Haha! ;) But really, my advice again is to let go of any controlling tendencies you may have and let your child be a child. Treveé will help guide them and place them in situations that will make them shine, allowing her to capture the perfect smiles and genuine laughs.”
I will include said image below. ;) -because I keep my promises
After our session with Erin I asked her: What’s one piece of advice you would give to other expecting mothers for the session?
And here is what she said: Go into the session with minimal expectations. By that I mean, Treveé will guide you and has your best interest in mind! She will pose you and put you in situations to laugh and be natural with your partner so the smiles will just come naturally. I'm a pretty controlling person and really did not have the energy to control this situation, nor would I have wanted to. Treveé is wonderful and will make you feel like you're hanging out with a dear friend.
How does a girl get so lucky? Erin told me Ryan has really helped out with the every day life tasks. “He has washed the dishes/cleaned the kitchen for the last 8 months, without hesitation! He will stay up late or wake up early to get it done so when I come downstairs in the morning, I have a clean kitchen to work in.” #impressed
Erin has been “sitting in baby girl's room, talking to my belly. Also, my daughter likes it when I pretend to be the baby and "talk" like her, haha. :) My craving has been peperoni pizza with a chewy crust (MOD pizza!). And chic-fila nuggets with buffalo sauce. I could eat gallons of the sauce.”
I’m so excited for your growing family, you two. Thanks for letting me step into your world for a moment!
Much love- T
